Project:

    Challenge:

Broadcasters and audio production professionals have long wished to extend the reach of their studios, and dreamed of better than ISDN quality when faced with remote recording.

    Solution:

With a broadband connection and Digigram's IQOYA range of IP audio solutions, long distance recording is about to get much better. Whether one wishes to interface directly with a mixer and microphone, or use a PC-based recording application, a real time two-way link with minimal latency is now possible. The better the network quality of service (QoS), the better the connection will sound.

Using a pair of IQOYA *CALLs to establish a bidirectional 48KHz PCM connection, a producer and voice over talent can interact together in real time. The producer can coach or cue, while the talent concentrates on their performance.

Just plug the recording gear to the AES/EBU digital inputs and outputs on the IQOYA *CALL to keep the entire chain pristine. No PC is required to access the main studio, the IQOYA range keeps all remote location IP or SIP addresses in its contacts directory. One button will connect the remote site with the studio.

    Benefits:

Much radio and post-production voice work is done using a PC-based editing application. IQOYA V*CALL and V*MOTE software will feed the incoming voice track directly into the application thanks to their DirectSound WDM software drivers. This also means radio automation remote voice tracking applications can interface quickly and easily.
