Digigram, a world leader in PC audio interfaces and innovative
networked audio devices, is taking advantage of the NAB Show 2010 to
unveil the 2-channel IQOYA *LINK/LE, a cost-effective, trimmed-down
version of its flagship IP audio codec, the IQOYA *LINK.
With its decode-only approach, simplified ergonomics and features
targeted at unattended transmitter sites, the *LINK /LE is the ideal
choice for broadcasters looking for a perfect mix of 24/7 reliability,
wide choice of audio formats and affordability.
Audio formats
In addition to the usual set of audio formats (ISO MPEG LII &
LIII, PCM linear, G711/722), the *LINK/LE ships with an extensive AAC
codec package (decode-only) included as standard - a highly distinctive
feature in the sub-$3000 price range. Enhanced apt-X decoding is also
available as an optional codec pack.
Reliability, durability
and eco-friendliness
24/7 availability with multiple failovers comes standard: the *LINK/LE
is built on the rock-solid specialized IQOYA hardware platform,
combined with FluidIP™, Digigram’s robust IP audio
codec engine with unique capability to send and receive IP streams
simultaneously on two separate RJ45 ports.
Should anything happen to the main IP audio stream, then a secondary IP
stream (RTP/UDP or SHOUTcast), or the analog or AES audio input, or
even playlists stored on an SD card will guarantee 100% on-air time.
Broadcasters will simply have to pick two of these backups and
re-arrange the failover sequence as they wish; all this comes as
standard.
Particularly noticeable is the fact that *LINK/LE is an
energy-efficient device, with a power consumption below 15W.
Affordability and
simplified ergonomics
IQOYA LINK/LE is trading advanced controls and ergonomics (front panel
keypad and LCD) for a simpler, HTML-based interface accessible from
anywhere: an ideal compromise for full remote control or occasional
access at unattended transmitter sites.
The IQOYA *LINK/LE will be showcased at Digigram’s booth
(North Hall, N1306 on French Pavilion), while general availability is
expected this summer.
