IP Remote: transmit + record at the same time
Are you often on the
field, contributing via a codec over IP or ISDN lines?
Wouldn't it be great to be able to simultaneously record your
contribution for further reuse (e.g. late evening news)?
Then, V*MOTE our
100% software IP codec
might be the ideal solution for you.
Simply run V*MOTE on your PC laptop: connect to your studio
effortlessly with Digigram reliability and audio quality, and get rid
of bulky and expensive hardware solutions.
But where V*MOTE really stands out, is by giving you the opportunity to
record your contribution
locally within your usual journalist-dedicated audio editor, while
actually sending it live over IP. You can even insert
markers on the fly for faster editing later if your software supports
this feature.
How
is this done?
It's simple and it's clever: V*MOTE comes with what we call a ULink
component. V*MOTE uses ULink to connect to any DirectSound-compatible
audio software, installed on the very same laptop.
All you have to do is to set the same ULink channel in both V*MOTE and
your software (V*MOTE as "playback", your software as "record").
The ULink component will be seen as an actual audio device by any audio
app compatible with Windows audio drivers.
