ALP881e – support

The ALP881e is a low-profile, multichannel PCI Express sound card engineered for professional PC-based audio systems on Windows and Linux. Compact and ultra-reliable, it is the ideal solution for mission-critical applications including broadcast, production, and high-end installations where high-resolution AES3 connectivity (up to 192 kHz) is essential.

Key Features

  • Low Profile Design: Fits into any chassis with two available brackets included.
  • Extensive Digital I/O: 4 stereo AES3 input channels and 4 stereo AES3 output channels.
  • High-Performance Mixing: Features an on-board, zero-latency $16\times16$ FPGA-based mixer.
  • Pristine Audio Quality: Includes high-quality hardware sample rate converters (SRC) on all inputs.
  • Rock-Solid Reliability: Designed for “hiccup-free” performance and a life-long professional cycle.
  • Advanced Control: 8 dry contact GPIs and 8 relay GPOs for seamless external integration.

Product Overview

  • Seamless Routing and Mixing
With its multi-client driver and an on-board $16\times16$ mixer, the ALP881e enables seamless routing and mixing between all input channels (physical inputs and software playback devices) and output channels (physical outputs and software recording devices). Windows users benefit from the ALP-X Manager, a unified control panel for the entire ALP-X range.
  • Precision Synchronization
The card offers total flexibility for external clock synchronization via AES3, AES11, or Word Clock. It supports a wide range of sampling frequencies from 32 kHz up to 192 kHz.

OS & Driver Compatibility

  • Windows: Supported from Windows 10 and Server 2019 using ASIO, WASAPI, and DirectSound drivers.
  • Linux: Compatible with Ubuntu (20.04), Debian (11), and RHEL (9) via ALSA and Libgpiod.
